Lesson 1: Basics of Fueling Physical Activity

This lesson explains how the body obtains energy from food and dispels a few common misconceptions. Also, Emily discusses the sources for the body's preferred fuel source for different types of activities.

Lesson 2: Nutrition Advice for Before, During, and After Exercise

In this lesson, we discuss the different guidelines for meals and snacks before, during, and after exercise. Emily will give you guidelines to consider related to hydration, and finally she discusses how "carb loading" works and how it fits into a training regimen.

Lesson 3: Applying Nutrition Advice for Before, During, and After Exercise

What happens if you're not eating or fueling enough? Turns out there are short- and long-term consequences. Emily opens your eyes to RED-S, a syndrome affecting nearly 1 in 4 athletes.

Despite the short- and long-term effects of RED-S, this condition can be treated. Emily also provides warning signs of RED-S.

Lesson 6: Healthful Weight Change Principles for Athletes

Whether you've been encouraged to gain weight or lose weight, weight and performance are often linked. Emily provides evidence-based approaches to achieving a healthy weight.

Lesson 7: Effectiveness of Dietary Supplements for Sports Performance
