Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is a complex eating disorder. As a relatively new diagnosis, added to DSM-5 in 2013, the true prevalence of ARFID is still being evaluated. Yet, ARFID can impact anyone of any demographic, and therefore dietitians across all practice settings must have a baseline understanding of an ARFID diagnosis. This infographic provides a snapshot of ARFID and its known subtypes, as well as signs/symptoms and common co-occurring mental health conditions.
