$0.00

Live webinar: Tuesday, March 24 at 2 p.m. EST

GLP-1 receptor agonist (RA) medications have been used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes for over 20 years; however, in recent years we have seen an explosion in the use of these medications for the treatment of obesity and weight-related comorbidities.

In this webinar, Liz Wanamaker, MPH, RD, CDCES will review FDA-approved GLP-1 RAs, as well as the world of non-regulated compounded medications. Participants will also learn counseling points for lean body mass preservation in the setting of weight loss, and the mitigation of potential side effects while on these medications.

Please note: CPEU-eligible certificates will be sent to live attendees only.

Learning objectives:

  • Develop a basic understanding of incretins and how GLP-1 receptor agonist (RA) medications impact glycemic control and weight.
  • Identify FDA-approved GLP-1 RA medications on the market and review the risks of non-regulated compounded medications.
  • Address the potential for rapid weight loss and lifestyle counseling for lean body mass preservation.
  • Review nutrition counseling for the mitigation of potential side effects while taking GLP-1 RA medications.
